  • KISS KISS BANG BANG (apologies to Pauline Kael)

    by Barry E J Smith

I have always enjoyed the hard boiled noir stories that came after the World War 2. I decided to play out my own version of a narrative. I did mine in cardboard.

    The story takes shape.

Here is my hard boiled tale. A woman gazes into a mirror and wonders what went wrong. We make our own assumptions about what happens next.

Meanwhile this piece in cut and painted cardboard went on show in the Sussex Contemporary, 2024.
